CURRICULUM GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Goal: Will provide relevant and rigorous curriculum for all students through policy, procedures, and financial planning, curricula that meets the needs of our diverse student body and prepares them for productive living in the 21st Century.
Objectives:
Align Special Education, Title I, Child Welfare, Technology, and Curriculum departments to ensure that the needs of ”r;Every Child, Every Day, Whatever it Takes” are met.
Utilize all available data (test scores, school observations, surveys, etc.) to develop and initiate a detailed executable action plan that will address testing and instructions.
Reduce student retention due to LEAP testing by 5% annually.
Implement a strategic plan that will ensure continued growth in the state accountability program.
Reduce Vernon Parish dropout rate and increase overall school attendance annually.
Provide all students with a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum.
Provide professional development opportunities (including best practice and research) and instructional resources to maximize student achievement.
Establish curriculum planning to anticipate occupational trends and school-to-career and post secondary school opportunities.
Increase the percentages of student performing at proficiency and mastery levels on the state LEAP assessments.
Improve students’ average daily attendance, high school completion rates; academic performance of our subgroups, and increase ACT/ SAT scores and student participation in dual credit programs.
Continue to implement and improve Positive Behavior Support to decrease the number of students suspended from school.
Incorporate the Arts into all schools.
Continue to improve and implement early childhood programs.
