BUSINESS MANAGEMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

 

 

SAFETY

 

Goal:   Maintain a program that provides for the safety and security of students and educators that create and maintains a positive and welcoming school climate in which all members take pride.

 

Objectives:

 

  1. Continue to integrate the Safe and Drug-Free School program throughout the Parish Schools.
     

  2. Provide annual briefing to educate students and employees to provide a school environment that is free from drugs, violence, fear, and intimidation.
     

  3. Coordinate school/district Crisis Plans to emphasize preparedness, prevention/ intervention, and coordination/practice emergency procedures to include annual mock drills.
     

  4. Establish, implement, and enforce an identification card display program for students and staff.
     

  5. Ensure all required school incidents are entered into the JPAM reporting system and are monitored; provide reports and feedback to all concerned.
     

  6. Become a better partner with local Law Enforcement and other Community Agencies.

 

MAINTENANCE

 

Goal:  Using Preventive Maintenance and an active Maintenance Department will maintain all buildings and equipment in excellent condition thereby providing a safe learning environment for all students

 

Objectives:

 

  1. Develop a Vernon Parish comprehensive 5-10 year prioritized capital improvement plan for every school to move toward 21st Century School facilities.
     

  2. Ensure that adequate and appropriate resources are available and allocated to sustain quality facilities.
     

  3. Continue to produce clean and safe facilities with ample capacity and effective operations to meet the learning needs of all students.

 

TRANSPORTATION

 

Goal:  Use fiscal responsibility in executing and managing the school transportation program

 

Objectives:

 

  1. Maintain a safe, efficient, economical school transportation program by establishing and maintaining only routes necessary to assure timely arrivals and departures.
     

  2. Design routes to achieve maximum utilization of buses and the elimination of unnecessary and overlapping routes.
     

  3. Continue to convert bus fleet to lease buses by attrition.
     

  4. Establish a cost effective method of communication to provide the safest, most reliable, and most effective transportation for our students.

   

FOOD SERVICE

 

Goal:  Maintain a school food service program that is efficiently organized, administered, and operated on a sound nutritional, educational, and financial basis.

 

Objectives:

 

  1. Minimize cost to students.
     

  2. Provide learning experiences in eating properly for healthy living. 

   

TECHNOLOGY

 

Goal:  Support the implementation of a technology plan which addresses the system’s current and future instructional and administrative needs.

 

Objectives:

 

  1. By 2014 all educational administrator/leaders will support systemic change while monitoring effective use of technology in accordance with the Vernon Parish Technology Plan measured by principal evaluations.
     

  2. By 2014 all teachers will participate in effective professional development to become proficient in the use of technology to enhance student learning based on sign in sheet.
     

  3. By 2014 all students will be provided the opportunity to receive high quality instruction through an electronic learning (E-learning) environment outlined in lesson plans.
     

  4. By 2014 empower all educators to transform learning with improved access, usage, and integrated data systems that are current and well maintained.
