DEPOSITORY OF FUNDS

The Vernon Parish School Board shall select a depository which shall provide the most efficient and otherwise desirable service for the Board and School District.  All funds of the Board shall be deposited to the account(s) of the Board in the official depository.

All monies retained in school buildings shall be safeguarded in secure areas at all times.  However, the Board shall assume no responsibility for funds lost in a school unless it is determined or suspected that an employee has misused funds for any purpose.

The Board requires that school funds shall be deposited on a daily basis, whenever possible.  In schools in outlying areas of the parish where daily deposits are not feasible, deposits shall be made at least twice weekly.  All schools shall be required to make a daily deposit when the school has a deposit amount of $500.00 or more.
