THE VERNON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD CONVENED IN SPECIAL CALLED SESSION AT 10:00 A.M., 201 BELVIEW ROAD, LEESVILLE, LOUISIANA. VICE-PRESIDENT BRANDON CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND ON ROLL CALL THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS WERE PRESENT:

                        COL. T. GLENN MOORE

There was also present Mr. Jackie D. Self, Secretary of the Board.

The meeting was opened in prayer by Randi Gleason.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Randi Gleason.

On motion of Steve Woods, seconded by Randi Gleason, the Board voted to take action on construction bids for South Polk Elementary School.

Mr. Perry Watson, Yeager, Watson and Associates, discussed the proposals and low bid of $16,980,000.00 from Tudor Construction of Alexandria.  On recommendation of Perry Watson, and on motion of Vernon Travis, the Board accepted the low base bid from Tudor, Inc.  Mr. Travis amended his motion to include Alternates #1 and #2 with the low bid from Tudor, Inc. ($17,211,100.00)– this motion was seconded by John Blankenbaker.  The vote was unanimous to accept the low bid and Alternates #1 and #2 from Tudor, Inc. for construction of South Polk Elementary.

There being no further business, and on motion of Gerald Cooley, seconded by the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
