THE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD OF VERNON PARISH LOUISIANA CONVENED IN SPECIAL SESSION AT 10:00 A.M., AT 201 BELVIEW ROAD, LEESVILLE, LOUISIANA.  PRESIDENT FORD CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND ON ROLL CALL THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS WERE PRESENT:

 

BERYL FORD, PRESIDENT

STEVE WOODS, VICE-PRESIDENT

ROBERT PYNES JR.

MARK SMITH

JOHN C. BURNS

RICKY REESE

RANDY MARTIN

GAYE MCKEE

GENE HAYMON

 

ABSENT:        VERNON TRAVIS - OUT OF TOWN

                        MEL HARRIS - BUSINESS OBLIGATION

                        MIKE PERKINS - OUT OF TOWN

                        COL. DAVID G. SAGE

 

There was also present Dr. Cynthia A. Gillespie, Secretary of the Board.

 

The meeting was opened in prayer by Mark Smith.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Robert Pynes.

 

 Mr. John Norris, Insurance Consultant, discussed quotes received for Workers Compensation.

 

On recommendation of John Norris and on motion of Ricky Reese, seconded by Randy Martin, the Board voted to accept the bid from Morris Insurance Agency (Republic Indem Co).  This is a renewal for two (2) years.  No one opposed this motion.

Mr. Norris discussed the bids for Property & Liability Insurance.

 

On recommendation of Mr. Norris and on motion of Steve Woods, seconded by Mark Smith, the Board voted to renew coverage with Morris Insurance (P-CAL) for Property and Liability Insurance.  No one opposed this motion.

On motion of Mark Smith, seconded by Ricky Reese, the Board voted to add Crime Insurance to the Agenda as 2B.

 

On recommendation of Mr. Norris and on motion of Ricky Reese, seconded by Randy Martin, the Board voted to approve the renewal of Crime Insurance with Snowden-Word Insurance.

There being no further business and on motion of Gaye McKee, the meeting was adjourned.
